the battery case on the base is however missing its cover as is shown in pictures

Quirky, Green Dip Bowl, Olive bowl, Tapas, with handle, Babbacombe pottery, handled serving dish, 6" 1960's, Made in England, Devon carved 1 x 4 Seater familyLovely and very well made dish, that is a perfect size for serving dips like Houmous or Gaucamole, or for Olives etc, made by Babacombe pottery in the 60s, the bowl is in MINT condition, not a sign of age or any damage at all, lovely solid little piece of 60s ceramics.
